Weather conditions are looking good for this week and all OCPE classes are running as scheduled EXCEPT:

The landscape hands-on construction projects have been postponed due to wet conditions. The new schedule is as follows:
  • Designing/Installing Retaining Walls and Outdoor Entertainment Spaces hands-on training will be held on Tuesday, April 8.

  • Concrete Pavers hands-on training will be held on Wednesday, April 9.

Snow is falling Sunday evening around the New Brunswick area, but coverage is expected to be light and the snow is expected to end around 2 am. Rutgers has cancelled all classes on the New Brunswick and Piscataway campuses for Feb. 3rd., making these changes in effect for today, Feb. 3rd:
  • The Concrete Pavers class has been postponed because a large majority of participants have plowing responsibilities.  Participants will notified of the rescheduled date once it has been determined.
  • Turf I and Turf II classes are cancelled for today.

Rutgers has cancelled all classes on the New Brunswick and Piscataway campuses for Feb. 3rd., making these changes in effect for today, Feb. 3rd:
  • The Concrete Pavers class has been postponed because a large majority of participants have plowing responsibilities.  Participants will notified of the rescheduled date once it has been determined.
  • Turf I and Turf II classes are cancelled for today.

Weather Updates for Week of Feb 3

FEBRUARY 3, 2014
A mix of rain and snow is falling and is predicted to continue through the morning in much of New Jersey.  These changes are in effect for Feb. 3rd:
  • The Concrete Pavers class has been postponed because a large majority of participants have plowing responsibilities.  Participants will notified of the rescheduled date once it has been determined.
  • Turf I and Turf II classes will begin at 11 am.  Turf students should check Sakai for announcements before leaving for class. 
The storm is affecting the state unevenly, so use your own good judgement to determine whether local roads are safe for travel.

Course Status for Monday, February 3, 2014

Due to snow predicted for tomorrow morning's commute, the Concrete Pavers class has been postponed. 

A large majority of participants in the Pavers class have plowing responsibilities.  Participants will notified of the rescheduled date once it has been determined.

No other schedule changes for OCPE programs have been announced at this time, but this site will be updated again by 6 a.m. Monday as weather patterns develop.

Jan. 3, 2014 -- Rutgers Office Closed

Because of snowfall and heavy winds, Rutgers University has declared a weather emergency for Friday, January 3rd.  As a result, the Office of Continuing Education will be closed for the day. 
                   
Landscape Plants: Identification, Selection and Application class is cancelled today. Class will begin next Friday, January 10, and a makeup day is planned for March 21, 2014.
Based on current weather forecasts, the 2-Year Professional Golf Turf Management School and the 3-Week Turf  School are expected to open as scheduled on Monday, January 6th.  This site will be updated as the storm moves out of the region, so check back for the most current information.
